HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

My Name is Tausinga Kautai. I come from a big loving family of 9 siblings (2 missing in photo). Born and raised in EAST(79) Auckland, New Zealand of Tongan origins by two OG hustlers, Taniela & Mele Kautai (aka) parents. Sounds a little cliche but didn’t have much growing up and what I admirer most about my parents is they never made it feel that way. Now, a father of 3 I see the sacrifices they made in order to raise so many children, its hard enough with the ones I have :)

Rugby was a big part of my life growing up and still is, I started becoming the designated barber wherever I played. 1 size fits all was the go to haircut (knippen). When I moved to Netherlands and struggled finding a job, having no qualifications and not speaking the language well, it only made sense for me to make barbering a career than a hobby. I applied for barbering school in Amsterdam and a year later, 1 exam and a baby later, a certificate earnt.

life is never perfect for anyone but its always up to us to make it as perfect as we want it to be. we all have a choice. just like you choosing this barber shop ;)
